A Long Time Coming

It has been a while since writing a new post ……. Decided to repost my old entries so there is more of a flow and less of a leap to the current posts. I have also made my blog more simple, so that I am able to upload work more easily, which I’m secretly hoping will help maintain my momentum in blogging…. well we'll see..........

Cave Dweller

I chose to base my summer project on the theme of nature. So when a Wren decided to build its nest very close to the house and after watching the busy parents bringing in food, I thought it would be a great opportunity for a drawing. Unfortunately the birds do not stay still for long enough to draw, with all those mouths to feed, so this is from a photograph.The chicks were so noisy you could hear them from the sitting room, but all have left now, so it is rather quiet.

Etching

Here goes (went) my first post (before I re-posted it)...... really enjoyed our etching workshop at the end of the first year at Uni. Found the process was a little more lengthy than anticipated, although enjoyable and yielded some good results for a first attempt :) I love the unintentional scratchy marks in the background, adding age and character to the VW Beetle.
